Day 9 - More Aware Everyday!

Day 9 - Down Syndrome Awareness Month is October! Working from the tablet, these will be shorter for the next few days. Bradley is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. We had hoped to never see the inside of Cottage Hospital again, and yet we're headed back. Our little guy has another hernia, the only thing in our favor is that it's on the right side of his abdomen, away from his button. I talked to the nurse tonight, we thought we might come home tomorrow night, but she seemed certain one of us would be staying the night at the hospital with him. How disappointing. So I get to meet some of our favorite surgical team, maybe even a few of the same nurses that he had in January. It's truly a mixed bag. But that is the way of our life with Bradley, we sit in the front row of his life, watching how the players are moving about in and out of his life; of ours. There is always room, but not everyone can stay. And that's okay, we merely are trying to be aware of the world around Bradley so that we don't miss someone reaching out to him. We don't want to miss someone reaching out to us - feeling the need to share their stories with us. Telling us about their connections, making a connection with us. Bradley is sleeping now so we'll hook him up early to feed and then I will drag myself up at 2 am to turn his feeding off then get up at 5am to head out for Santa Barbara. Please keep Bradley in your thoughts and prayers if you would, your support keeps us going! Thank you everyone!
